We've been using ACDSee for a long time because of its uncanny ability to open and show just about any type of image file, and do it fast. But ACDSee is more than that. It is also a powerful tool for organization, and printing photos. With this new version, ACD Systems added multiple enhancements.

This is a very interesting survey from Popular Science, about the most unpleasant jobs in science. What people have to do for earning money from science. And at the end there are some historical unpleasant scientific jobs which worth reading.

 Samsung's launching its Napster MP3 player . The YP-910GS is a 20GB hard drive player, and the Napster angle is that you can directly connect with the new Napster 2.0 music download service for automatically transferring tracks to the player. They're giving away 20 free Napster 2.0 downloads with purchase and it also comes pre-loaded with music from The Faint, the Dandy Warhols, Iggy Pop, and others.  We've been a big fan of KiSS Technologies, which lately has been a step or two ahead of many bigger electronics companies, coming out with some of the first DVD players that could play DivX video files and came with Ethernet ports for streaming content from a PC. They're cranking it up a notch with their new DP-558 DVD player, which besides having an Ethernet port and support for DivX, has a 80GB hard drive for recording TV shows. Read More...  Adobe announces Photoshop Album 2.0, an upgrade packed with new features and usability enhancements to quickly and easily find, fix, share and preserve digital photo memories. With a new user interface, digital photographers can utilize the Windows-based software to easily organize photos etc. To get a taste of this new product, Photoshop Album Starter Edition, which is a trimmed-down version of Photoshop Album 2.0, is available for free download.
"Digital cameras will again be the hot holiday gift item this year and Photoshop Album 2.0 is the perfect companion to round out that purchase," said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of Digital Imaging and Video Products at Adobe.
